It is about the size of a fully grown rabbit. It is mainly grey in color with a little bit of reddish brown mixed in the grey. It mostly feeds on fungi, tubers or underground plants, leaves and other found vegetables.
It is called as Rat-Kangaroo because of its unusual things to a rat, like having immature joey in the pouch and hopping as its locomotive activity like a Kangaroo.
Because of its large size and its unusual adaptations it is the only member of its family or Genus.
