B-Bakelite

Bakelite was the first ever invented synthetic polymer which could be written as polyoxybenzylmethylenglycolanhydride C₆H₆O·CH₂O or could be simply told as the first type of plastic . It was first synthesised by a Belgium - American scientist Leo Baekeland in Newyork during 1907 it is believed in the month of June . 

This was at first used as a substitute of shellac an insulator used on electrical appliances. But then it was used for making outer casings of radios and other objects which were heavy to make them light . It was then even made into rings bangles and so on.

But for a matter of fact on those days it was not the cheapest thing but one of the costliest . As the cost of making was so high.
